Friends that mean much to me

:iconslasher12:

You’re such a great artist and designer, you know, and I love your style of art and your characters – they’re so soft and fluffy. My favorites from you include Slasher, Java and Gryphon.

:iconleadbyfaith:

Juba, you’re such a great artist, no matter what you think or others think of you or your work. Sorry to hear you’re so busy with college, but your art rocks and Juba’s such a cool character!

:iconserpentina666:

Serpentina, keep it up! Don’t let your interests pull you down, no matter how much backstabbing you get! And your work beats my work hands down any time.

:iconwolfcub:

Wolfcub, you’re a great artist, and your style reminds me of all those years hugging very soft plush toys like my stuffed Pikachu and my stuffed Eeyore, which I still hug today. And Fake Daxter rocks!

:iconlars99:

Lars, you’re an excellent cartoonist, and all of your characters are drawn too cute! I especially love the way you draw some characters, like Crash Bandicoot, for example!

:icontani-tiger:

Tara, what can I say about you? You simply rock, and you were the reason why I started drawing again after a long absence through DeviantART. And your work and animations, I can say, are legendary.

:iconcrunchinator:

Justin, you’re a pretty funny guy. While I am not a big fan of your stories (since I’m a very poor reader), you’re one good friend and you are very supportive of my work, commenting and faving almost every one of them.

:iconsonyals:

We don’t know each other much, but upon first seeing your work only some months ago, there is only one word that I can say: WOW. You draw like a professional light years ahead of me. Really true you know!

:iconkryptothedolphin:

You’re a great artist, and you are supportive of my work when you can. And I like your characters. You really are one true friend of mine.

:iconpene:

Pene, you’re a great artist, and although you’ve been busy before you have been one of my greatest supporters on DeviantART when you had the opportunity to do so. For this, I thank you indefinitely.

Hello Everyone!

Well, May is here, as you should know for a long time already.

Well, things are starting to settle back in Australia, the weather however is getting much colder...it'll become much more frosty again next month, when the horrible winter strikes. I hope I'm mentally prepared for it, but I strongly doubt that'll happen.

TAFE is going well, but I'm still not confident in tackling cryptic concepts yet, but I'm sure that I can pull through this year having cut my load in half.

Also, I've uploaded some photos on DeviantART from my trip in America. Hawaii had plenty of photo opportunities but Salt Lake City only gave a few. Here are the seven photos that I uploaded.

Arizona Memorial: [link]
Inside the Memorial: [link]
Sunset Beach: [link]
At a Luau: [link]
Polynesian Cultural Center building: [link]
Salt Lake Temple: [link]
Wedding Photo: [link]

Well, there you go, and you're bound to see my ugly self in them. Enjoy, I guess.

Art-wise, I'm sketching on a few pictures, and I'm considering starting fanfiction on some of my characters soon. Here's what's in store at this time:

King Koopa stomps a mushroom village - Lineart done
Come and hula - Lineart done
Towelie pic - Lineart done
Chef finds love - Lineart started
South Park pic Douche and Turd - Lineart started
Bowser firedances - Not started
More pics may be submitted without notice!

Arrivederci!

Hello Everyone!

I'm back from my American trip after spending nearly 10 1/2 days in the land of the free and only came back to Sydney this Afternoon and hence I'm a little tired, but suffering no jet lag suprisingly.

Well, I want to say in a brief nutshell, about my holiday in Hawaii and Utah.

Hawaii, to summon it up, was absolutely fantastic, nothing short of awesome, I'm telling you. Even though I don't surf or relax on Waikiki Beach (I'm not a beach person, that's why)...I'm telling you, you don't have to be a beach person to love Hawaii. Waikiki was a shopping haven, and Pearl Harbor gave me emotions as I saw a sunken ship ruin and a memorial with the names of dead soldiers who perished in the Pearl Harbor bombings. The north shore of Oahu was nice, and some promotories were great although windy. And a suburb tour of one of the richest places in Oahu is neat too. And so many beautiful girls there too...

But I'm saving the best for last. The Polynesian Cultural Center in Laie, Oahu was remarkably GREAT. I loved every little bit of the place, and although I had a little conflict during lunch, it didn't stop me having the time of my life. The Rainbows of Paradise Canoe paegant, the Polynesian culture and the luau were awesome, and the Horizons live night show was nothing short of spectacular. In fact, it is so GOOD, I want to go there again and do it all! I would recommend this place for anyone who is going to Hawaii, whether you are into Polynesian culture like me or not...(unfortunately, this blew one of my covers that hid one of my secrets for years, oh well)...

Utah, in comparison, was rather sleepy and bland. Not much was there to see except the Gateway shopping plaza and Temple Square, the heart of the Mormon Church. I only went there to see my brother Matthew tie the knot with his fiance Kate. Now...I have gained in-laws, although that is nothing special to jump for about. I also saw some of my friends and relatives for the first time in person even though I knew them for years.

Well, I'm back in Sydney, and guess what? I have five coloured pictures that I brought back with me from America (but only one of them was completely done in America, the rest was lined in Australia before the trip {and one was partially coloured before the trip too}), so I'm going to upload them all to prove that I didn't just enjoy myself okay?

I will soon upload some photos of my trip here on DA or maybe open a Facebook account for that.

Logging into DA, I have been hit with 184 deviations and 122 messages. And one damn note that reported my Anti-communist stamp as discrimination. What discrimination? Just because I don't support communism doesn't mean that I discriminate people. What is DA up to these days? Geez...anti-capitalist and anti-American propaganda get a free hand and even get promoted by DA, yet anything that dares challenge the left-wing machine, such as pro-capitalist and anti-communist works, get condemened from the word GO and are often reported as "discrimination". Discrimination against what? Capitalism isn't discriminatory...communism is just as bad, if not worse...than ideologies like fascism and nazism...and that's saying something. Geez, DA needs to be politically neutral and not take sides. Whatever it is though, no one can change my mind, I'm as anti-communist as I will ever be and that is that.

And, on a smaller note, I've been here for three years now, but I seem to be more isolated than ever before. I wonder why?

Arrivederci!

Hello Everyone!

Well, I need to write this to all of you before I head off to America...

It looks like that I will not be able to get in touch with DeviantART while I'm away in Hawaii and Salt Lake City enjoying myself and attending my brother's wedding, which will happen on April the 26th America time, unless the hotel that I am staying in has internet access and even then it's risky to log on in case DeviantART fails or switches to read-only mode in the middle of my tenure, so most likely I will not log on in the next 11 days. So take care, all of you, while I head to America.

I am really nervous about attending my brother's wedding at Salt Lake City. The wedding will be performed inside an LDS (Mormon) temple, so it's almost certain that I will stay out on the temple grounds (I'm going to be bored, but that's expected). Also, I will be meeting my newly extended family and many of my relatives in SLC, some of whom I have never ever met personally, so it's kinda like a family reunion for me. In Honolulu, the weather is forecasted to be hot and humid, but I've been through rather similar conditions in Hong Kong the last time, so this shouldn't be a real problem. Salt Lake City is still cold, but I've been through it before from my experience in Beijing three years ago, so it shouldn't be a problem, but I'll bring cold medicine just in case.

Art-wise, don't fret. I'm bringing some paper and pencils over in my cabin baggage after finding out I am able to bring such things on the plane, so I might actually do some art while I'm on holiday, particularly when my parents get too tired to walk around and then we head back to the hotel, this is when I might do some in addition to the plane if I get enough space in a 17 inch chair.

So, for about 11 days, Arrivederci! That means goodbye! :bye:

Hello Everyone!

Well, I want to tell you all something before it is too late. In a week's time...the 19th of April, to be exact, I will be heading off to America for 10 days - first, to Honolulu, Hawaii, where I will hope to go to the famed Polynesian Cultural Center (I can't wait to see all this Polynesian Cultural stuff, everyone says it is really good, plus it'll probably be helpful for my artwork, since a lot of it is Polynesian-influenced!) I will be in Hawaii for a few days, but then I will go to Salt Lake City, Utah, where I will be able to visit Temple Square, the heart of the Mormon Church (of which I'm apparently a member of), and to attend by brother Matthew's wedding, which will happen on the 26th of April USA time. I am really, really feeling nervous about attending my brother's wedding, especially after such a long flight, well, two long flights in cramped cattle class conditions with little entertainment (unless, of course, I can smuggle in some things without being noticed by my parents or security).

Well, I wonder why my brother didn't marry in London, but the reason was that his fiance comes from Salt Lake City and that she wanted to arrange the marriage in America. Well, can't help but I don't really care perhaps.

TAFE is going alright, at least I have less chance of failing a subject with a half-load than a full load, but the Flash lessons isn't going well because I seem to have deep trouble understanding a lot of Flash concepts and scripting. If any of you got any hints and tips for Flash please, I would like some of your help in this aspect.

Art-wise, I've got a lot of lined pictures and colouring them is in the process. And two contest pictures that I'd better get done before I leave for America on the 19th.

Guess I'll see you around if I can at that time, but I doubt it! Arrivederci!
